The Helen Straker Charity raise over £60,000 for Dorothy House and The Bath RUH Forever Friends Appeal

Helen Straker was an incredibly determined character, battling for many years before losing her fight against cancer in 2013. During that time, she showed equal determination to raise funds for both Dorothy House Hospice and The Forever Friends Appeal which raises funds for the new cancer centre to be built at Bath RUH.

The Helen Straker charity ball was held in The Apex Hotel in Bath on Saturday 27th October. The auction lots included a two-night stay in La Residencia, Majorca which was generously donated the Belmond. Take That tickets and International Rugby Tickets for all England games proved to be very popular.

Strakers Managing Director said “speaking on behalf of all of the trustees we are delighted with the magnificent sum of money raised and we are totally overwhelmed by the continued support we receive from so many people, our sponsors, the incredibly generous auction prizes donated and of course everyone who comes along to join in the fun on the night! It was a truly memorable occasion!!”

Strakers are proud to support such a worthwhile cause and will continue to do so as much as we can.
