Lyneham is a sizeable village with a small range of shops, schools, and other amenities within easy access to the larger centres of Royal Wootton Bassett, Calne, Chippenham and Swindon. The latter two have mainline railway stations. There is access to the M4 at junctions 16 & 17.

Planning consent was granted in 2009 under application no N/09/01361/FUL. However in 2020, application no 20/04896/FUL was refused.

From the roundabout by Tesco Express in the centre of the village proceed along Preston Road and the land is on the left just past Argosy Road. The additional parking area is off Argosy Road.
